Among the things Alan is or has been at various times are, a husband, a father, a motion picture and television film editor, theatrical producer and director, writer, actor, teacher, student, consultant, web designer, science fiction and fantasy bookstore owner.
After nearly 30 years in the television and film industry in Hollywood, Alan took another turn onto a path not yet taken and completed both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Psychology. The former at the University of Laverne and the latter at the Buddhist-based University of the West, both in California. He is currently practicing as a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist throughout the state of California. The road goes ever on*.
“I see therapy as a live, collaborative process. My approach blends depth-oriented and evidence-based practices with mindfulness and existential discovery. We’ll explore what you’re carrying, how it’s shaped you, and what new ways of being are possible. Together, we’ll honor your lived experience and focus on what’s most meaningful right now. Whether you’re feeling stuck, untethered, or simply curious about your next chapter, therapy can offer a space to reflect and reorient. You don’t have to come in knowing exactly what you need. Bring your questions, your contradictions, your hunch that there’s more to life than just coping—and we’ll listen for what’s ready to shift.“
